Conference brings industry decision-makers together and offers a unique structured format to foster thought-provoking discussion built around an agenda.

Already the second year in turn Lingmaster will attend Nordic Translation Industry Forum in Copenhagen on November 22 – 23. The aim of the forum is exchange of experiences and knowledge between localisation and translation enterprises in the Nordic and Baltic countries having interest in the latest trends, technologies and problem solutions in the field. The theme of this year’s conference is management of insourced and outsourced resources for different business models. During the conference interesting people will share their experiences on this subject.

Already for the fifth time Lingmaster is happy to announce participation in the Networking Days conference organised by the European Language Industry Association (ELIA) taking place on October 4 – 6 in Budapest, Hungary. This time Lingmaster will take part in sales promotion and communication workshops, as well as take the opportunity to meet the present cooperation partners. We will establish new contacts, capture fresh ideas and allow ourselves to get inspired by experiences shared by other participants.

The fourth time LINGMASTER took part in the conference Networking Days Madrid, organized by the European Language Industry Association (ELIA); the conference has taken place in Madrid 3 – 5 May, 2012.

This year Lingmaster participated in Bull's Eye occasion with presentation. Lingmaster marketing manager had opportunity to introduce the audience with company services, answer to questions and to receive comments and suggestions from a panel of experts. This was the twelfth Networking Days organized by ELIA and was a great follow-up to the highly successful ND Athens. The program featured a keynote address, full-day workshops, and sessions providing both the in-depth, applicable know-how of ELIA's characteristic full-day workshops and informative introductions to topics, products and services less familiar during the thought-provoking sessions.

The conference provided a great opportunity for the participants to exchange information and experience in the field of translation and localization, to find out more about the latest technologies, to make new contacts with the potential customers, as well as to strengthen co-operation with the existing partners and language suppliers.

The International Translation Day is celebrated in honour of St. Jerome (347 – 420 AD) who translated the Bible from Ancient Greek and Hebrew to Latin, as well as wrote commentaries to the Bible. St. Jerome is considered as the patron saint of interpreters and translators. St. Jerome is said to have been able to find a common language not only with people, but also with animals. Once in the Syrian Desert Jerome and his brethren were attacked by a wounded lion, ferocious of pain. Instead of becoming intimidated by the beast Jerome removed the thorn from the lion’s foot and healed him. Later Jerome tamed the lion, who abode ever after with the man.
St. Jerome died on 30 September 420 (according to other sources 419) in Bethlehem. In 1991 the International Federation of Translators (founded in 1953) proclaimed St. Jerome’s date of death as the International Translation Day. Translators and interpreters all over the world celebrate September 30 as the day of their profession.
